Alastic Torture
ArtsFest volunteer Adham Fisher has had a few brushes with fame this summer. His Mothers’ Day single (Atomicduster Records) has been championed by none other than Radio 1’s Huw Stephens, who termed it “a big, fat guilt trip of a record.” Subsequent plays from Rob Da Bank and Tom Robinson on 6 Music have occurred.
Also, Adham’s band GRR were featured in the July edition of Future Music Magazine with their somewhat bizarre song Terrifyingly Strange, which was also played on 6 Music a while ago. As the editor said upon first hearing it: “There are 15 tracks on this album, and that was just one of them.”
Adham is currently gearing up for his ArtsFest performances with both projects, and you can catch him headlining the Malt House on Saturday 13th, 7pm (AFS) and at the BBC Public Space, Mailbox, Sunday 14th, 2pm (GRR).

Adham is also hoping ArtsFest will commission him to produce a song called Alastic Torture, the idea of which came about after he mis-read “acoustic theatre”. We’re not sure how that happened…
