Five things you never knew about …..

In a bid to generate more of a personality for ArtsFest and give people a face to the Festival we thought you might want to know some background info on the folks that work at HQ.

So here we go!

Five things you never knew about Kate our Festival Assistant….

1. Kate drives what she loving refers to as a Granny car. ( you know low mileage, small vehicle, one owner who ran to the local shops and back)

2. Since joining the team this year Kate has been avidly developing a Still Life on her desk, this is an organic process.

3.  She has acquired a number of shoes which live under her desk. None of these are worn while Kate works in the office.

4. We have been graced with a lovely navy blue and yellow Cafetiere hand knitted by Kate’s friend.

5. As well as bringing her delightful self to the office we now have a coffee table, a recycling basket, a tin opener and a tea bag strainer. All of which will be used in a participatory activity at ArtsFest.

Five things you wouldn’t have guessed about Emily our Festival Officer…

1. She has so many clothes that Kate has set her a challenge to wear something different everyday until ArtsFest. We will update you with our documented diary of outfits. This is outfit 1.

2. Has joined a Yoga class but as yet has never attended a single session!

3. Can sink numerous cafetieres of coffee, in fact is known to have a headache if we don’t supply a cup of da beans by 10am.

4. She can play violin, recorder, piano and guitar!

5. She has not one but two easels and is amazing at Batik! We promise to post images of her work asap.

Five claims to fame by Elise the Festival Coordinator….

1. Her best mate is the drummer in the band Glasvegas, those of you who volunteered on Friday last year may well have flyered outside the Council House with her! Glasvegas have already received an NME award, supported Dirty Pretty Things and Ian Brown and are due to play at Glastonbury! This is Caroline, Elise and Blair at Classical Fantasia 2007.

2. She went to college with PC Plum of Balamory!

3. Has featured in one of Belle and Sebastian’s music videos for ‘Century of Fakers’.

4. She performed on the Olivier stage at the National Theatre when she was 15.

5. She used to harass Alex from Franz Fredinand on a weekly basis when he worked behind the bar of her local!

We hope you feel as though you know us slightly better, enjoy the bank holiday we’ll be back next week!
